The signatures on this petition are from Litchfield Park residents who support SOME development in Litchfield Park. We ask that the city council favorably consider the latest JDM and Sun Health proposals and pass them as presented.

Updates

November 23, 2014

The city council office has acknowledged the volume of signatures we submitted this morning as a formal entry into the public record. My next step involves preparing testimony for the upcoming planning commission hearing to ensure our position remains a central part of the deliberation.

After attending many meetings and listening to JDM, City Council, P&Z and many residents in Litchfield Park I commend all parties for the level of compromise and negotiations. Now that we have a amendment that can truly protect all homeowners views on the golf course I can support SOME development in Litchfield Park and the Wigwam resort. I must say what a blessing it is to have such a strong commitment from our 6 City Council as they decide the future! Thank-you

The City of Litchfield Park allowed the best economic development plan and opportunity to be hijacked by Kabuto, the previous Wigwam owner in the mid 1990's. We have had a few false starts toward significant economic development since that lost opportunity. Economic opportunity is time sensitive and another lost opportunity may be the last opportunity for another 15 years. I support the current revised General Plan amendments and subsequent development subject to the design review process s

I believe that we need to work with JDM and that they have been good stewards of the Wigwam. We are better off working to help them improve the viability of the resort than dismissing their expansion efforts in the hopes that the fundamental challenges they face will simply go away.

We should definitely give careful consideration to positive development in our community including JDM 7 acres on the golf course. While I would not want to see Litchfield Park lose the charm and character it has with a massive redevelopment of parts of the golf course into multistory condominiums etc, I think adding a new and exciting component to the Wigwam with golf course views will enhance the Wigwam as well as Litchfield Park if done properly and not just dismissed. Of course I am in favor of the proposals with the Fry's and the homes on the west side of Litchfield Rd as well.

I have lived in Litchfield Park for 2.5 years now and love it. This community needs to look towards the future instead of being stuck in the past. One of the reasons I chose to live in LP was because I assumed that as the economy got better the town would take advantage of this and start building to protect the future of our community to make sure we have a solid financial foundation. Don't make the same mistake so many other small towns make by thinking we are so special that there will always be a better deal. This is just the first step in many, but at least we can start the process and then make more informed decisions. I am in full support of the plans that JDM has and hope the City Counsel will vote yes to see where this can take us.

Even though we are living on county land, this affects us because we are interested in downsizing. The condos on Litchfield Road & Wigwam Blvd. are of great interest to us!
