The Riverseed School is a creative solution to public education that has grown out of the dreams of two Montessori teachers, Ebony Marshman and Zanso Dalili-Ortique. It will be a teacher-led, two-room Montessori schoolhouse that is nature-based and intentionally and holistically pro-Black in its upholding of liberatory learning.
The vision for The Riverseed School is to offer an intimate setting in which the most immediate stakeholders: students, educators, families, and neighborhood feel holistically safe and affirmed in their identities, while also fostering an appreciation, knowledge, and reverence of the natural world.

This is exactly what DC education is missing. My kids would THRIVE in this environment. Keep pushing for this!!!
Such a beautiful vision for our children. We need more pro-black spaces that focus on the actual community. Fully behind this.

DC needs more of this. Our kids deserve to be in a space that actually respects their identity instead of just being another number in a huge system.
