Support The Mercy Chair – Petition to Allow Mobile Salons in North Carolina

We are collecting signatures in support of allowing licensed mobile cosmetic art salons in North Carolina. Mobile salons make professional hair care accessible to people who cannot easily reach a traditional salon — including veterans, seniors, people experiencing homelessness, and those with disabilities.

By signing below, you are showing your support for The Mercy Chair, a nonprofit outreach program that provides free haircuts, hygiene care, and meals to individuals in need. Your signature helps advocate for compassionate, safe, and regulated mobile salon services that bring dignity and hope to our community.

Hard to believe that this isn't already an acceptable way to provide these services. What a blessing to many who cannot access a traditional salon.

I am a property manager for 21 disabled people who are not able to get out and get to a salon or barber shop for a haircut or anything that a salon offers. I am all for a mobile salon!

This is a cause close to my heart and a dream of mine to offer this service to the community.

Having mobile salons could reach countless people who don’t have access to personal care and go without regular care. Many Senior Citizens or handicapped persons. Please find it in your heart to make it possible to reach the underserved!

Daily, weekly, monthly grooming is so needed and beneficial for not only your health, but your mental health. Not everyone has these basic necessities nor the ability to travel to get a simple haircut or a bear trim. Mobile salons would allow a beautician to travel to the sick, elderly, homeless and provide these needs

This would so many people. Momma was not physically able to get out and go get her haircut and it would have meant a lot if someone could have come to her.

This is something that should have already been in place. Why on earth would it not be? No downsides.
