I have worked for 26 years at the same location as a barber/hairstylist. The recent economic climate has made it increasingly difficult to provide for my family renting space at the salon that I’ve been at since the beginning of my career. I would like to be permitted to work from home, cutting my client’s hair as I always have by using an accessory building that I have on the back of my property. (The building occupies 1/100th of our 2 acre property and has been approved by the city of Warr Acres).
I will not be putting up a sign. There will be nothing public indicating that I’m doing this and no solicitations to gain additional clients or walk-in traffic.
There will be no cars parked on the street. I work with one client at a time on an appointment only basis and my driveway is very large. There will be no noise issues, waste issues, parking issues or signage issues. In short, no one would know that I was doing this if I weren't asking for permission to do it legally.
I’m asking for your support in allowing me to be able to do this legally by asking the city of Warr Acres to grant me a variance and a work from home permit to be able to cut hair on my property.
If you would not be opposed to me using my property in this way, please sign below.
Blessings, Tony Brady
I have been reviewing the constructive feedback left by neighbors regarding my request for a home occupancy permit. It is encouraging to see that so many of you understand the importance of utilizing a personal workspace to support a family career. I am currently preparing my formal presentation for the upcoming oversight committee meeting.

RIDICULOUS that he has to ask for permission to use his own land. Let him cut hair!

Warr Acres needs to stop making things so difficult for working people. Its just a barber shop not a stadium.

26 years of experience is a lot to just throw away because of rent costs. It is his property he should be able to use it.
