The pay raise for our deputies is finally official. I am drained from this long fight but grateful that the decision went our way at last. Let us keep watching to ensure these commitments are carried through properly.

The quiet from the county officials has been frustrating but I am still spending my evenings sending out inquiries and tracking down the right people to talk to. It feels like an uphill climb most days yet I know we have to keep pushing because the people working these shifts deserve fair compensation.

I am a retired Law Enforcement officer from Alabama and after retirement we moved to Harris County. We are extremly blessed to have Sheriff Jolley and his staff. We need to do what we can to support them and make sure they get the pay raise they deserve. Lets get them paid what they deserve.
Sherrif Jolly and his staff have our utmost respect. We moved to Harris county from Muscogee County because of the lack of crime, let's keep it that way by giving Sherrif Jolly the tools/funding so that he can pay his deputies their worth and hire more quality officers.
These people are the cream of the crop. They live next to us, their kids play ball with ours, they are our friends... they are our family.... they are deserving of the BEST pay in the area!!!
The pay scale in the county is a little skewed if a machine operating jailer for the county can make $18.50 starting and a Deputy Sheriff will start at $13.64. Give me a bull dose and I will patrol on that.
We continually lose, or aren't able to hire, men and women that live in the county that PREFER to work here because of the pay. My brother, who lives in HC, works for CPD because they make more (which in and of itself is a laughable amount) than HC deputies.
I admire and support the Harris County Sheriff's Department!! If our country had more officials willing to stand up and support God and Country, we would certainly be great! I vote yes for a raise!
Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every time they put on the badge. They deserve to be compensated accordingly...

my son is a harris county deputy and takes his job very seriously. he protects we the people of harris county .he deserves a raise along with all harris county sheriffs department.you all are wonderful.
