The land for GVR Pickleball Complex is under attack. We need your support in order to keep it on track. In 2017 the 11 existing courts were used by 40,467 GVR members. During peak season members wait 45 minutes before getting in a 15 minute game. In their focus time members may only get in 2 games. This is NOT acceptable. Under the CPM: Sect VIII GVR Programs/clubs, F. Facilities, it states: GVR is responsible for facility expansion in order to provide existing levels of services for a growing GVR membership or support increased usage due to changing trends. It is GVR’s responsibility to build a Pickleball Complex. The board has already acknowledged the need for a 24 court Pickleball complex 5 plus years ago. The land where there is an offer on is zoned commercial and can be used for many purposes. GVR is within its right to build the much needed Pickleball Complex. The nearest homes to the new complex will be 3 times farther away than the homes at East Center courts where there has never been a complaint about noise.
