As I'm sure most of you know, Clarkson recently changed their parking regulations to expand commuter parking and reduce the number of available spots for residents. It is my belief that these changes are unfair to those that live on campus, especially Price and Graham halls. The allotted space that Cheel Parking has been reduced to is not enough to accommodate those who live here, even including the lower Cheel lot which is consistently full. The Cheel lot is used by those living in Price and Graham, Quad (Ross Brooks specifically), and Moore house. While I understand that commuters need places to park, enough of the Cheel lot was already given to them. If anything, the Moore house lot would be better suited for commuter spaces. Additionally, to place the needs of people coming for 'event parking' over those who pay up to $60,000 a year to study and live here is absurd. Priority should always be on the students, especially those who live here. It is my goal to make the regulations what they were at the start of this semester. I created this petition to prove to the parking committee that this is unfair and that Cheel lot should be kept for the students. I hope you all will stand with me.

I am honestly stunned to see how many people felt the same frustration I did when I first started this. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I am just a student who was tired of hunting for a spot after a long day of classes.

Parking is already bad enough for Graham Hall. This change isn't going to do anything other than make it worse. How is this new system going to stop people living in Quad from parking in the space designated for Price and Graham? This is a poorly thought out decision that did not take residential students' concerns into account.

Thank you for standing up to this. This upcoming layout is rediculous. If they need more space for commuters or visitors, then organize a parking garage or something. This is an engineering school, after all.

I could go further into detail. Email me if you would like that. But it is so incredibly shortsighted to try to fix parking by shoving the people who pay to live here down the hill away from their homes. People who commute ARNT bringing groceries into these buildings. They aren't moving fridges and tvs.

Being a residing student who has to use their car frequently for work this is inconvenient and dangerous for when I come back to my dorm after work late at night. The fact that my walk to my dorm will no longer be on the main physical campus scares me because you never know who may be behind you in the lack of light from walker or riverside.

Have freshman park in Walker only to save the quad lot for res life workers, Moore, and New dorms. As far as apartments go, expand a new lot closer to the themed houses only for the themed houses and only them to cause less problems for apartment parking in total.

Clarkson has made parking nearly impossible. I've had to circle lots for 20 minutes just to find a space to park in. With winter coming it's going to be absolutely ridiculous to expect us to park so far from our dorms in the extremely cold weather Potsdam gets. Parking needs to be switched back to how it was last year.

Some other type of parking regulation needs to be presented. The proposed plan is not fair for those who pay the money to live on campus. Clarkson needs to figure out a way to limit the number of cars that appear on campus or build more spots for parking.

The new parking regulations are a joke for students. Not favorable at all and ridiculous.
