The school board just reached a contract agreement that avoids a strike and honors our educators. My children will be back in their classrooms tomorrow because you pressed for a better path forward. Let us keep paying close attention to how these new provisions are implemented in the coming months.

We the undersigned, support our Unit #4 teachers. Our teachers work long hours and go above and beyond to support students and their families every day. The requests from the teacher's union for higher wages, home visits, and smaller class sizes for primary grades will benefit everyone in this community. While we understand that finding the money in the district for these proposals will take some effort, we believe it is essential that our community continue to work to improve our public schools. We are fortunate to have hardworking, caring, and well-educated teachers. A teacher strike would be stressful and detrimental to students, families, and teachers in this community, academically, socially, financially, and emotionally, and we implore the administration keep this from occurring.

Seeing 500 names on this list reminds me of how much my own children rely on these dedicated educators every single day. I genuinely worried I was the only one feeling this way until I saw this outpouring of backing for our teachers.

My son talks about his teachers every single night at the dinner table and I refuse to let them burn out. We are getting very near the 500 mark and I need you to pass this link along to your neighbors right now to push us over that threshold.

My children receive an amazing education due to extraordinary measures taken by educators at Carrie Busey Elementary to ensure student academic achievement IS in the top 10% of the STATE of IL. Data supports fair compensation is well deserved!

Growing up, I watched my mom, a teacher in unit #4, come home exhausted both emotionally and physically. No matter how many hours she spent at work, sometimes not coming home until midnight, it was never enough. I have nothing but he upmost respect for teachers, and they certainly deserve better

As a mother of a kindergartner in Unit 4, I support our teachers 100%! My son deserves to be educated in a classroom with employees who can meet his needs and the needs of his classroom. If that means more teachers, do it. If that means more teacher's aides, do it. This is about the children and our future!

If the district can find over $80,000 to pay a union breaking firm to negotiate the contract they can find the money to cover the expenses connected to the requests of teachers.

As a former Unit 4 employee I support my former co workers! Kindergarten and other grades are over crowded and behaviors escalate more in larger settings.

As a retired Unit 4 teacher I have many, many friends who teach in the district. I also have a son who teaches in the district. I have first hand knowledge of how hard these people work. They deserve so much, much more, starting with respect.

My son will start Kindergarten in the fall. As a future Unit 4 parent, I’m very concerned about K class size. Support teachers in supporting our children!
