Our extremely hardworking teachers at Twin Parks Montessori's Central Park campus ("Central Park Montessori"), represented by UFCW Local 2013, have been in protracted negotiations with developer Sinclair Haberman. Mr. Haberman is the controlling shareholder of the company that owns Central Park Montessori.
Our teachers have made a few modest requests, which Mr. Haberman has repeatedly rejected. We, the parents of Central Park Montessori, believe that current tuition rates should easily support the following:
1. Teachers should be paid twice every month, rather than once a month. Given the low salaries of employees in this sector, many teachers have trouble making ends meet between paychecks. Twice a month is industry standard in NYC.
2. Teachers should have the option to elect the less expensive UFCW healthcare plan as an option.
3. Teachers should have a tiered 401K contribution plan:
- Employees of 1-5 years: Central Park Montessori should contribute 1% of the teachers' annual salary to 401Ks.
- Employees of 6-10 years: Central Park Montessori should contribute 1.5% of the teachers' annual salary to 401Ks.
- Employees of 10 or more years: Central Park Montessori should contribute 2% of the teachers' annual salary to 401Ks.
4. Teachers should have three-year union contracts.
We, the parents of Central Park Montessori, love our school. We love our school in large part because of our devoted, caring teachers, who give their all every day to help us raise our young global citizens.
We strongly support our teachers in these negotiations and respectfully urge Mr. Haberman to honor our teachers' reasonable requests.

I have been spending my evenings talking with the teachers about the stress they feel waiting between those monthly paychecks. It is heartbreaking to hear how hard they work while struggling with basic financial stability and we are continuing to push Mr. Haberman to recognize their value.

Seeing this groundswell of support reminds me exactly why our teachers are the heart of this school. We have real momentum now and it proves that our community refuses to accept anything less than dignity for the people who care for our children every single day.

Dear Mr Haberman, thank you for supporting our superb school, and THANK YOU for treating our dear teachers with respect, fairness and appreciation. Please strongly consider making those modest adjustments which help our teachers continue to bring themselves and their devotion to help our children grow. Thank you, Frank Breitling
Our teachers at CPM have been extraordinary and their dedication and hard work has benefited our daughters enormously. They are superstars and simply put, they're the reason we send our girls to CPM. Please support the teachers. Their demands are very reasonable.
Central Park Montessori is a great school, because of the amazing teachers. Their dedication and commitment to the children is really incredible and we are so happy there. But our expectation is that these teachers are treated fairly by their employer, so I very much hope their reasonable requests are met by the school.
Kindly support our wonderful teachers who make educate and nurture our children and make the school run. The requests are pretty much standard at most jobs.
Our wonderful teachers deserve to retire one day. Their requests are more than reasonable. Indeed, some of these requests are so minimal that it is hard to imagine a justification for their denial. Our family stands with the teachers!
I agree. does anybody have mr Haberman contact info? I'd be interesting on buying this amazing school and pay the amazing teachers a good compensation.
I wholeheartedly support this petition.

The teacher's requests seem so reasonable that I am at a loss as to how anyone could in good faith reject them
