We are a group of Early Childhood Educators who are working on a project to bring awareness about Mental Health in Children. The focus of our campaign is on what is best for these children and families associated with mental health issues.
Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, OCD, Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia and Eating/Mood disorders are some of the examples we are dealing with in Childcare centers and Public Schools on everyday basis, and we as facilitators for these minors have a big responsibility to be able to acknowledge the signs for it and educate and support those in need of it.
The increase in support has gained the attention of regional administrators who have requested a formal meeting to discuss our curriculum proposals. I am currently drafting a letter of intent to present during those discussions to ensure our requirements for staff training are formally reviewed.
