Millions of children & teens struggle with Mental Illness yet do not know much about it or have resources to learn and understand their feelings. Including some form of mental health education in our school’s criteria as a core class (or elective) would help children & teens better understand themselves, and others. As well as, potentially prevent negative issues (bullying/violence/etc.) within our schools and communities if the youth understood their feelings and had resources to help them with them.

I am currently reaching out to local school board members to demand a formal meeting about this curriculum change. Post this link on your Facebook page to ensure they see that our community expects action. Email your representative today and insist that they prioritize mental health resources for our students.

The momentum behind this push proves that our communities are ready to prioritize student mental health in the classroom. Take this energy a step further today by texting three friends the link to this petition. Force the school board to recognize that we demand these resources in our curriculum.

Too many kids suffer in silence and don't even have the words to ask for help. This is long overdue and needs to be in every school.

I think this says it all. Children need to be empowered to understand and talk about their feelings from a young age. Many are not mentally ill it’s more likely that society has lost the plot and busy parents along with it.

we need to do all we can to make sure our children are protected and cared for, their health (mental & physical) and safety should be our top priorities!
