Mental health problems like stress, anxiety, and depression are becoming more common among students. The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that every year, 1 in 6 American children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 17 suffer from a mental health illness. Nevertheless, many schools lack the necessary tools and support networks to deal with these issues efficiently. According to National mental health "By the age of 14, 50% of all mental illnesses begin in life, and by the age of 24, 75%. Among those aged 10 to 14, suicide is the second most common cause of death"

WAY overdue. schools focus way too much on grades and not enough on the actual health of the kids. this is life or death stuff.

my daughter struggled so much in high school and the school just ignored it. they really need counselors who actually care and know how to help these kids instead of just passing them off.
