Hora Hora School is taking a clear stance for the wellbeing, identity, and cultural grounding of our tamariki. Although recent Government changes have removed Te Tiriti o Waitangi from education legislation, our commitment to Te Tiriti remains firm. Te Tiriti is central to how we honour, uplift, and support our children, especially our Māori tamariki who make up a large part of our kura.
We are asking our community to stand with us. By adding your name, you show your support for protecting identity, strengthening belonging, and ensuring our tamariki continue to learn in an environment that values their whakapapa, tikanga, and wellbeing.

I support HoraHora schools decision to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi as many Maori students thrive in their identity under Te Tiriti and I believe it's important for all students to learn and understand the history of our own country.
Kei konei tonu mātou e tū tahi ai, tangata whenua, tangata tiriti mō āke tonu, ā, i muri roa iho i te wā poto o te rongonui o tēnei kāwanatanga!! Toitū te tiriti. Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles of partnership, protection and participation ensures that Māori students, whānau, and communities can fully participate in all aspects of education, with equitable opportunities and outcomes, and that the school environment reflects the bicultural identity of Aotearoa. These principles aim to eliminate disparities and racism, foster a sense of belonging and cultural affirmation for Māori learners as tangata whenua and enrich the educational experience for ALL ākonga by acknowledging the unique identity and heritage of Aotearoa.
