It has been a tumultuous and stressful year for the entire 113 community. While the community has been divided over many issues related to the pandemic, we recognize the amount of time and work put in by many school board members in getting us to where we are today. While there certainly are a lot of new reasons to be optimistic about the direction we are headed in, we recognize there is still significant and complex work to be done. As such we believe uninterrupted leadership is imperative, especially as two long-standing Board members are not running for re-election and two new Board members will need time to obtain the knowledge and understanding needed in order to effectively carry out their roles.

As such, we strongly support and urge the District 113 School Board to RE-ELECT Jodi Shapira as President and Ken Fishbain as Vice-President to ensure much needed continuity in direction and leadership.

At a time when there is such divisiveness in the community, we believe this is an issue we can all come together to agree upon and champion as necessary to move the District forward in a positive and cohesive direction.
