Our Board of Commissioners is preventing public involvement by refusing to hold regular monthly meetings in the evening so working people can attend and be heard.
We have valuable information to share about local public services, public education, public spending, and other county activities.
Our county needs to join the City of Winston-Salem, WS/FCS Board of Education, and 93% of the counties in North Carolina by holding regular evening meetings.

THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! PEOPLE ARE FINALLY WAKING UP TO THE FACT THAT OUR SCHEDULES MATTER AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE IGNORED ANY LONGER!!

Teachers and other public service workers cannot attend these meetings, nor can working individuals without job flexibility. It is truly not a conducive time to hear the people's voice.
Why wouldn't the Commissioners want the input for those they serve? Having regular evening meetings, especially those concerning the budget, is the right thing to do.
Government works better when more citizens can more easily participate in real time! It’s time to join the 93 other NC counties who all hold at least one evening meeting every month!
Any meeting that is held as a "public" meeting, that thus includes information of interest to the public, should be held at a time when the public can attend. Kind of a no-brainer, and the public is left to feel deliberately excluded if all meetings are during working hours.
Evening meetings make it possible for more community member involvement including involvement by kids who can come to observe the process.
Evening mtgs help more people to attend board mtgs. Please change these mtgs to evenings permanently.

Why are the commissioners afraid of their constituents? Why don't they want to serve the public by meeting this need? Most working people can't attend these important meetings at 2 in the afternoon. Why is this board so loath to join an obvious public good?
