We the undersigned students, parents of students, staff at JEB Stuart
High School and/or residents of Mason District in Falls Church, Virginia, do
hereby support the cell phone tower proposed to be located on the northeast
side of the football field at JEB Stuart HS, and
We feel such a tower will improve cell phone coverage in an area which
is in need of it including, but by no means limited to the enhanced ability of
parents and students to communicate with one another while on the school
campus, something that is often impossible with the present weak signal
strength, and
We feel the money the tower will bring into the school and to the JEB
Stuart Athletic Boosters including, but not limited to the synthetic turfing of
the sports fields at JEB Stuart HS, is
of great value, and
That numerous studies have shown no health problems connected to such
cell towers, and
That numerous studies that have shown no loss in property value when
such towers have been installed elsewhere in the Washington, DC metropolitan
area, and
That numerous other Fairfax County public schools are hosting cell
phone towers on their property, benefitting from rental income those towers
provide and have seen no ill effects from such towers, and
We are aware that the existing tall light poles, trees and apartment
buildings will allow the tower to blend in to the greatest extent possible
within the surrounding area, and
That the Fairfax Country School System has studied this issue in depth
and concluded that that there are no problems associated with these types of
towers;
Therefore we support the installation of the proposed tower and
recommend that the Fairfax County Planning Commission, School Board and Board
of Supervisors do hereby take action to ensure the proposed installation.
Other schools have these and nobody even notices. Just get it built.
