Rock Academy of the Performing Arts (RAPA) is a proposed public charter school in Las Vegas, NV with the purpose of offering a school of choice for students and parents in the Las Vegas Valley that has a focus on performing arts, specifically in the strand of music performance and technology. The mission of RAPA is to provide an educational experience, second-to-none, yielding music and academic excellence. RAPA enrolls 6th thru 12th grade students providing top tier comprehensive and standards-based academic instruction to students while fostering and promoting a state-of-the-art music educational program. In addition, a partnership between RAPA and the School of Rock Las Vegas West (SOR) will draw students and parents throughout the entire Las Vegas Valley because it will bring added value to them knowing they will receive their core academic and music instruction during the day and an even more intensive music performance program after school. We desire an equal partnership among students, parents, faculty, staff, partners and community to create a safe, caring, and innovative learning environment. RAPA incorporates the best research-based practices to meet the needs of our student population. The school offers a career path for its students to develop proficient skills, postsecondary and beyond. We believe it will be the premier one-stop educational institution to house those who have a passion for music performance and technology and desire a fundamentally sound academic experience. The proposed start date will be August 2019, with enrollment open for grades 6-11 during the inaugural year. The following year, the school will offer enrollment for grades 6-12.

The completion and signing of this petition indicates interest and/or support for the development of the proposed public charter school.
