Standish was a large village 20 years ago, its now a small town with a horrendous traffic problem. Building the bypass would help to relieve some of this traffic and make the roads a lot safer and easier to get from a to b. Those with the knowledge are winding their way through the back streets to avoid the congestion which is further increasing traffic volume on roads that are meant only for residents.

Wigan council stopped this bypass in the 60s when the M6 was built by designating this largely wasteland as greenbelt, the argument was that if a road was built then the land would be opened up for housing. As Wigan is now desperate for housing this argument no longer exists.

All these new houses are going to be built at huge profit to the builders & council - yet nothing is in place to counterbalance the extra gridlock that already cripples Standish in rush hour at the moment? A bypass is long overdue and will benefit all the commuters from the North West that already crawl along at a snail's pace to & from the M6 every weekday.

Stupid idea that will merge standish shevington and standish lower gnd. Its a decent link from m58 and completion of inner ring road that is needed.

Fed up being stuck on my drive as hundreds of cars block my drive at peak times or when the motorway is shut.

Who pays for the bypass George? Council are being told by Tory Government to make more cuts. You didnt support the budget including freezing of council tax. Where does the money come from? Just like a Tory (Oh forgot you used to be one!) cant balance the books.

Thats just what Standish needs - A Bypass on greenbelt land. Once granted open house for more houses!! Great Idea George!! The route planned is on greenbelt land between Crow Orchard Road and Boars Head. What a Joke!

Been needed for ages, gridlock and endless queuing daily. Don't bypass the issue!
