We, the
undersigned, call on Andrew Tyrie, MP for Chichester, along with Chichester
District and West Sussex County Councillors, to promote the adoption of
improvement proposals for the existing A27 rather than a new northern bypass
around Chichester.
The through traffic using the A27
represents a small proportion of the overall traffic flow on the existing
road compared with local traffic. Hence the existing and future
rush hour congestion will only be solved by the upgrading of the existing
A27. This will benefit the businesses in the City and the wider area to
both the north and south of the City.

Publicity Officer for the Ramblers. our ramblers frequently walk in West Sussex. The proposed Northern routes would have a huge detrimental effect on the South Downs, where we enjoy many walks.
