As owners in Summit Place and members of the HOA, we humbly request that the Board of Directors call a meeting to discuss changing the bylaws to read that homeowners are responsible for the maintenance and replacement of their individual roofs. Funds previously allocated for roof replacement can be retained in reserves to bolster our financial standing.

Reflecting on the conversations I have had with many of you lately, it is clear that we all share a desire for more financial autonomy regarding our properties. I am currently organizing the feedback we have collected to present a clear case for this shift in maintenance responsibility to the Board.

Ridiculous to keep paying high fees for work that never happens. stop taking our money for projects we dont even want right now.
makes way more sense for owners to control their own maintenance. sick of the board wasting our budget.
Why the board do the rules change when there is a large project affecting our pocket and we lose as owners after contributing for years to these projects.
The roof is the HOA responsibility, if they can’t manage the money they collect from us , they shouldn’t be allowed to be in business
Each owner can find better rate to change roof and to do it when needed not before.
We do not agree with this.

I can get my roof done cheaper by myself and not wait months for the board to decide who gets to do the work. let us handle our own properties.
