We, the undersigned,
demand that Haringey Council pledge not to demolish the five blocks of flats on
Summersby Road, N6 5UH, and instead invest in and improve these homes.
We
believe that demolishing this structurally sound estate would destroy a strong community, uproot residents, some of
whom have been settled here for decades, and endanger the integrity of the
ancient woodlands of Highgate and Queen’s Woods.
We have reached the two hundred and fifty signature mark on this petition. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the Haringey Council planning department to notify them of our clear opposition to the demolition plans.

The current momentum has prompted the local planning committee to request a formal briefing regarding our concerns. I am drafting a detailed memorandum this morning to outline why renovation is the only viable path forward for the Summersby Road estate.

I think it is wrong to demolish sound housing when there is such a shortage of good homes, especially in London. If these people are happy leave them alone, a strong community is priceless.

The properties can be improved, it does not help constantly destroying communities, and demolishing structures. Just help improve the structures

Please do not demolish the flats in this road, they are not just buildings that serve no viable purpose, they are a home for the residents who live on Summersby Road. Take a moment to consider the impact upon the environment, and the needs of the surrounding community. These are homes for many people not just empty premises to be demolished at will.

I lived in the estate on Summersby road for years and it would be a devastation to develop on it... There is a settled community living there.

This community has been built up over many years.
We have invested in our homes and our neighbours.
Please don't this road be destroyed and the residents priced out of the area.

Corporate greed will eat itself in the end. Destruction of solid, established, accessible housing is destroying what makes London special: a diverse community with all levels of income!! These are real people's homes you are destroying!

What right does anyone have to take away good people's homes?
