We, the undersigned, petition that Brent Council does not grant planning permission to the demolition of the Library building in Carlton Avenue East & the building of 12 flats and space for a library in its place.

We want the site to be kept solely as a Library for the community.

I was just looking at the screen and realized how much steam this has built up and honestly it makes me feel like maybe they actually have to listen to us now. It is wild to think about how many people care about this building because at the start I was just worried nobody else would even notice the plans.

We the citizens of Brent are being inundated with flats in every possible nook & cranny. Carlton Ave East has become a very congested & crammed road. A three storey building is totally out of character with the houses on that road. The road is congested with cars flats will only cause more congestion

This is one of the few community resources left in Brent. When is the building going to slow downp?. It is non stop all around us for the past 20years. We are now overcrowded. Please leave this little place for the community. Thank you

The replacement public library is even smaller than the exisiting one. there is no disabled toilet serving the library. The ground floor lfat at the rear sould be a multiuse room serving the library, not for residential use. How can the council bend its own planning guidelines to permit this scheme is beyond comprehension.

This library is a very valuable community hub. Please do not take away something which works so well. A much smaller place in a building of 12 flats will not be the same. Has any thought been put into this proposed project at all? We need this library/community hub kept as it is.

This library is am important part of our neighbourhood and Brent council should recognise the importance of keeping it for that the young, old and infirm who cannot travel.

Please do not build an apartment block at the venue of the Preston road library. This place is getting very crowded. We already have 7000 new homes in Wembley. Preston does not have to compete. Reinstate the library instead.

The site has always been used fully. It was one of the best attended in Brent. It was a purpose built library totally in keeping with the surrounding area and should neve have been closed. The Civic Centre is a long way if you are elder, disabled, have several young children. The whole point of a local library is in in the name. It is being used as a library and community hub and there is nothing like it in the vicinity. People need to mix freely and study, learn and enjoy acording to their inclination and needs.
