We need a teen mentoring program at UHS to help each other make better choices regarding risky behaviors such as drugs, smoking and alcohol in our school. UHS, like other high schools in our area, has a problem with drugs and alcohol. It affects many students in all social groups within our high school and even in our middle school. Research shows that kids listen to kids. Teen mentoring works. I am a student that has made an extremely poor choice. I had no idea of the consequences that would occur as a result of this choice. I want to make my story known and expose my personal pain so that other kids might see this and hopefully help them avoid making a poor choice. Hopefully by doing this we can change the culture in our school, one student at a time. If you support allowing me to have this opportunity to make a difference,please sign my petition.
