After the events which played through after the representative's speeches; I would like to formally apologize for my incorrect usage of the word "drugs" as I was referring to over the counter drugs, such as tylenol and benadryl, for minor injuries during sporting events. I meant no harm and did not intent to use the word "drug" as today it has many negative connotations.

I 100% understand why my word choice had to be addressed with me, but I feel the punishment was severe and I still would like to have the chance to run in this student government election. I believe I have new ideas and a different outlook I could bring to our student body, and I believe I should be reinstated as an eligible candidate for the representative position for the class of 2019.

In a step towards appealing this decision I ask the HBHS student body to show their support by considering signing this petition. Ultimately, I would like the opportunity to improve the atmosphere at HBHS as a member of student government, and with your help and signatures, this opportunity could become my reality.

Updates

June 7, 2017

The growing momentum behind this appeal reflects a genuine commitment to fair representation within our school community. This support serves as a clear indication that students desire a thoughtful reconsideration of the current decision.

this is honestly pathetic. everyone knows what she meant and trying to ruin her run over a vocabulary slip up is just ridiculous admin overreach.

Saying the word "drug(s)" should not be grounds for disallowing someone to run for student body. To be frank, this is censoring the right to speak freely.

Tess is a wonderful young woman of character and compassion. Don't be punitive over one instance of poor word choice!

Tess is a nice young woman and through the years I have known her she is not the person to distribute or take drugs. She is very intelligent and Hollis high school is making a very large mistake by disciplining her for such a minor error in speech.

When people ask why our administration isn't the best, overpunishments like this are usually the answer.

Y'all need to chill with the anti-drug hysteria. Tess is literally the least likely person to use/distribute drugs.
