We, the undersigned, ask Rocky View School Division to re-install the student led group DISCERN to its former capacity, and for a commitment from Rocky View Schools to the success of the committee. We ask for a minimum of five meetings between the students and trustees per school year as well as consultation on all further board decisions that directly influence student led groups.




About DISCERN: Established in the 2011-12 school year, DISCERN (the Division-wide Initiative for Student Consultation, Engagement, Representation and Networking) is a committee of the Rocky View Schools’ Board of Trustees. DISCERN’s purposes are as follows: to facilitate the initiatives stated in the acronym; student consultation, engagement, representation and networking; as well as to advocate on behalf of students at the board level and advise the board on student opinion.
