This petition has been set up in response to the recent publicity regarding the lack of teaching jobs in Scotland. Projected figures by the Scottish Executive inform how many student places are available each year. However, we believe that these projections are inaccurate as many teachers finishing their induction year are finding themselves without a job. Please sign this petition if you would like the Scottish Executive to re-consider how many students should be trained as teachers each year. We would like to send this petition to the Scottish Executive so that they become aware of the very real problem facing many probationers. As this is an ongoing problem there is currently no closing date for this petition. Ultimately, we would like the correct information to be made available so that people considering a career in teaching can make an informed decision instead of being faced with many uncertainties (including unemployment)l. Thank you for your support in this matter.
The Scottish Executive keeps churning out fresh graduates while teachers who finished their induction year are left without jobs. I am hearing from so many of you who are stuck in this cycle of unemployment and it is beyond infuriating. They need to stop ignoring the reality of the situation and own up to these misleading projections.

The Scottish Executive keeps churning out empty promises while qualified teachers sit on the sidelines waiting for jobs that do not exist. This surge in support proves they can no longer hide behind their faulty projections. We are turning the heat up until they finally address this mess.

there are simply no jobs up here. the statistics are clearly wrong and people are suffering because of it.
