We the undersigned, support the Students at City of Glasgow College in their quest to progress their learning. The Students of NQ/HNC Food Science have just found out that the college is not expanding the course to HND level, even though the course was advertised as this. Futhermore as of 2012 the College will close the WHOLE food science department.
We need these qualifications to progress into university and get jobs in the food sector . We are totally shocked and devastated at this overnight decision and our lives have been thrown into disarray. We are going to fight this decision because this course is our future. There is no other institution in Scotland that offers HND Food Science so we need to finish our course here. Food and drink are one of Scotland's biggest exports and the sector has shown that there is a need for Food Science graduates, but how can we graduate if the courses are closed? Scotland needs Food Scientists.
We stand together as a team united to Save Our Food Science Courses.

This is ridiculous. Food exports are the backbone of our economy and we are shutting down the training? Short sighted and stupid.
