Food waste is affecting our world environmentally and economically. Many people are aware of the economic impact that food waste has on the world, but not many know about the environmental impacts of food waste. Roughly one-third of the food produced in the world for human consumption every year — approximately 1.3 billion tonnes — gets lost or wasted. Food losses and waste amounts to roughly US$ 680 billion in industrialized countries and US$ 310 billion in developing countries. If each and every person in this world tries to decrease the number of times they waste food per week, it can help our planet economically & environmentally.
