Recently France passed a law prohibitting supermarkets from deliberately spoiling edible food and forcing them to form a partnership with a charity to donate the food to those in need. Companies failing to do so can be fined.

The UK should take a lead from this and we should DEMAND that our government looks into this as a matter of urgency. For good food to be destroyed whilst people are in food poverty is a disgrace. No child should be hungry with this amount of wasted food.

It's so shocking that this isn't a widely accepted practice. With food banks on the rise in the UK this kind of waste is shameful and embarrassing.
People unite and feed people in need

Please share this with as many people as you can and ask them to do the same. Then It can be sent to the PM ( which always generates publicity and a debate on the issue )
