ATTENTION: RESIDENTS AND FRIENDS OF TRUMBULL, CT The Trumbull Police Union would like to advise those living in and around 158 Edison Road, Trumbull, CT of the proposed construction of a cell phone tower on Police Department property. The Union is strongly opposed to said construction and strongly encourages the public-at-large to become informed as to its anticipated use and impact of the proposed cell phone tower. It is the Union’s understanding that a lease agreement has been, or will be, entered into between the Town of Trumbull and T-Mobile Northeast, LLC to erect a cell phone tower at 158 Edison Road; the premises of the Trumbull Police Department. The tower would be replacing the current 85-foot police radio communications tower (which although aged, is still fully functional) and would be approximately 100 feet taller, to allow for T-mobile’s civilian cell phone service equipment to be incorporated at or near the 140 foot mark. The means, the tower’s height would be a staggering 180 feet tall and highly visible not only within the immediate surrounding residential neighborhoods, but even farther away. Consider for a moment how this proposed cell phone tower may also affect; 1. Scenic and historical preservation in our pristine town, most notably within the Long Hill District; 2. Safety implications and concerns; 3. Ongoing care and maintenance issues and tower expansion possibilities; 4. Potential impact on the surrounding environment and wildlife; 5. Possible radiation health hazards and the unknown risks and impacts on the health of our local residents (studies show radiation is especially concentrated within a 1 to 2 mile radius of a tower); 6. Actual need for a replacement tower with civilian cell phone capabilities; and 7. Property values. In good conscience and in the best interests of our most vulnerable residents, our precious children, we are encouraging you to become informed and to make your feelings known to our elected officials as to how you feel about having such a tower in our town. We, the Union and residents are asking that our elected officials reconsider, repeal, and dismiss any further plans to construct such a tower.

180 feet is way too tall for that area. It will be an eyesore for everyone in the neighborhood. Put it somewhere else.

The existing tower works just fine. Dont let them ruin the skyline just so t mobile can make extra cash. RIDICULOUS.

Total nonsense. Why are they trying to pack a cell tower onto police property anyway? Keep our town looking like a town.
