We need your vote to help protect our community and prevent a 29-foot Verizon cell tower from being installed in our subdivision. Verizon is proposing a plan to install a cell tower in two of our neighbor's front yards in place of existing light pole. Other neighborhoods in Woodstock have faced the same proposal and voted against it. They won due to the overwhelming number of cons a cell tower presents.
There is only a small area within Brookshire (a few houses) that has subpar cell phone reception. Within those few, only those with Verizon will benefit. Those few who would benefit, can just as easily improve their reception with a reception extender within their own houses. The pros do not outweigh the cons and a cell tower presents far too many risks to overlook.
- Multiple forms of cancer (humans and pets). Infants and children are more susceptible to the effects of radiation.
- Miscarriages and birth defects
- Attention disorders
- Dizziness
- Depression
- Headaches
- Lower property values
Even though our local and state governments have done little to stop/relocate this tower, the tower cannot be built without resident approval. Therefore, signing this petition is in the neighborhood’s best interest and our BEST chance at stopping the construction of this tower. Help protect Brookshire from the negative effects cell towers will bring to our community by signing this petition.
I demand that the Verizon cell tower not be built within the neighborhood of Brookshire nor in the immediate area.

It is my belief that residents should have a choice when faced with having a cell tower placed on their property. Residents should also receive proper notice. Companies such as Verizon should meet with the residents and discuss alternatives. I oppose this cell tower from being installed in such close proximity to residential property with all the unknown harm it could do to us and our children.
There is no reason to install a cell tower within the boundaries of a residential neighborhood. No differently than the leadership of Verizon would not want the same on their respective properties. They are not healthy for anyone in close proximity and will erode property values.
As a health care professional I am appalled that they would even consider placing this tower in a residential area. So many other (safer options) that would place lower risk on the residence in this community. We aren’t your test tube guinea pigs. We are an united neighborhood of middle class, highly educated, hard working Americans. You can’t pull the wool over our eyes. Get out!

Please find somewhere else to place this tower that is not residential. Place it near the bridge to I-575 where no one lives. Putting this tower in our neighborhood places the health and lives of our residents in danger. A child getting cancer is not worth better cell service.
