Started by Citizens Against High Density Development Hendersonville, TN 3 years, 6 months ago

We, concerned citizens of Hendersonville, TN, ask the Hendersonville Planning Commission and Board of Mayor and Aldermen to deny approval of the WESTLAKE DOCKSIDE District Plan. This plan would allow mixed-use/multi-family/high density development that would create undue hardship for the residents of the Walton Ferry/Sanders Ferry Peninsula, and citizens of Hendersonville as a whole.

Reaching five hundred signatures proves that our neighbors refuse to watch our peninsula get overwhelmed by this reckless project. I live on these roads every day and seeing this support confirms I am not alone in fearing for the future of our home.

My family has lived on this peninsula for years and I refuse to watch our quiet roads get swallowed by this massive project. We are nearly at five hundred signatures and I need everyone to help push us over that mark today. Please send this link to your neighbors so we can show the board exactly how many people oppose this density.

Let’s stop these developers from coming out communities proposing this type of development with no consideration to what this will do to traffic congestion with no additional infrastructure. Looks like our city leaders just want more tax revenues while not taking care of what we now have.

The traffic getting on and off the peninsula is already heavily congested and dumping more traffic on it and to Main St. from this development would magnify this problem alone to unmanageable amounts and extremely dangerous for emergency vehicle response. We can’t handle any more development here!

As a Hendersonville resident of 18 years, I am greatly concerned about the massive amount of housing being built without any concern for traffic patterns or the burden on our already over-burdened schools.

If Hendersonville ever had any small town charm, it is loosing it very quickly and this development will not help. My family has been here since 1963, I understand growth needs to happen, we have seen it, but all of this is extreme.

The turn lane to turn left onto Sanders Ferry already routinely backs up across the bridge, preventing any oncoming traffic from turning left onto Clearview Circle. I have sat through 4 lights just trying to get back on the peninsula. The area simply can’t sustain this much extra volume.

Not a single apt complex in the area is to capacity. Nor are new construction housing options affordable. Traffic is blatantly being overlooked and any "financial gain" is not in the favor of the existing residents.

We have to slow these things down

NO. Just say NO to this attempt to ruin the value of our homes and properties. The infrastructure cannot support it. This is a total selfish debacle. We, the People, will be angry beyond words. Thank you for supporting the people who voted you into office.
