Encourage supermarkets to re-distribute their good surplus food to charities in the UK.
Food waste and food poverty are two major issues affecting the UK, with negative consequences for the environment as well as people in our society. We, Nita and Jo, feel that a lot of actions should be taken to address these issues; by supermarkets and food industries as a whole should re-distribute their good surplus food to charities in the UK to help alleviate these problems. Some supermarkets already distribute to charities in the UK, which address food poverty, however, many of them still don't. By signing this petition, you will help us to encourage supermarkets and other food companies to donate their food to these charities and benefit themselves as well as those who need it. We hope you feel the same way about these issues as we do and support our ideas.

I am honestly stunned by how many of you have joined this effort to address food waste. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I truly never imagined so many people felt this strongly about helping our communities. It is a privilege to see this vision grow through your support.

Used to work in a shop and the amount of perfectly good bread we had to throw in the bin every night was sickening.
too much waste in this country. supermakets need to step up and do the right thing for once.
Great idea. stop the waste and feed the hungry. simple.
long over due. no food should be wasted when families can barely afford to eat.
its honestly criminal how much food gets tossed while people are literally going hungry around the corner. sort it out.
