The Issue

Davis Ford Road and the surrounding area are under threat. A proposed Special Use Permit (SUP #2020-00019) aims to construct an oversized 18,417 sq. ft. facility on a small, sensitive 4.26-acre parcel. This project will bring dangerous traffic conditions, environmental destruction, and disrupt the peaceful character of our neighborhood.

We, the residents of Prince William County, need your help to protect our community, our safety, and the Occoquan Reservoir—a vital drinking water source for hundreds of thousands of people.

What’s at Stake?

1. Dangerous Traffic Hazards:

Davis Ford Road is a narrow, winding two-lane road with blind curves and speeding issues. This development would introduce hundreds of cars weekly, causing traffic backups and creating dangerous conditions, especially for westbound drivers approaching blind corners.

2. Environmental Destruction:

The project would clear-cut forests, disturb steep slopes, and overload sensitive environmental zones within the Occoquan Reservoir Protection Area. This risks sedimentation, pollution, and long-term harm to our drinking water supply.

3. Neighborhood Disruption:

Our quiet, residential community is not equipped to handle the scale and intensity of this development. The noise, traffic, and activity from large gatherings and special events will disrupt the character of Davis Ford Road and surrounding homes.

4. Inadequate Planning:

The proposed stormwater system is designed only for minimum county standards, unable to handle increasingly common heavy storms. This will result in runoff, flooding, and damage to neighboring properties and downstream waterways.

What Do We Want?

We are asking Prince William County to deny the Special Use Permit for this project. The parcel is simply not suitable for a development of this size and intensity. We urge decision-makers to preserve the safety of Davis Ford Road, protect the Occoquan Reservoir, and maintain the character of our community.

That road is already a nightmare during rush hour. Adding hundreds of cars into that mix is just asking for a major accident.

Protect the water supply. This area cannot take this kind of development. STOP THE PERMIT.

Leave the trees alone!! We moved here for the quiet not to have some massive building looking over our backyards.
