The department confirmed this morning that the road project is officially canceled. We successfully held the planning committee to their commitments and they have abandoned the proposed route entirely.

The latest surge in support has grabbed the attention of the regional planning committee. I am currently finalizing a formal briefing document to present at their next public hearing.

The development would lead to an increase in traffic passing Rundle College on 17 Ave. It would further increase the already chaotic situation and the danger for students.

This road connection is not required. The Study Area is only 800 m wide, so transit routes along 85 St and 77 St will meet the 400m minimum walking distance required by Transit.

10 years of residency and tax paying on this property on 81st Street SW and this is what I now have to deal with? Please consider the residents of this residential neighbourhood which have no interest in becoming an internal connector to a retail shopping area. Main roads should be that...main roads.

As a frequent recreational pedestrian in this area, I am concerned about the negative impact upon the safety of the streets, and the tranquility of the neighbourhood, due to increased traffic on these residential streets.

This area represents one of the last preserved communities within the city of Calgary. Disrupting the natural beauty of this community by building this road will bring about negative consequences that significantly outweigh the few positives. The city should seriously consider abandoning this project. STOP THE ROAD!

I am 100% against this planned road through a quiet community and nature preserve. An alternative route must be considered as this has been rushed and inadequately evaluated for safety, noise and property value considerations. WE CAN AND MUST DO A BETTER JOB!

Area does not need a collector road /shortcut through existing green space. Waste of tax payer dollars.

Wild deer are always spotted here, as well as this being a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. It does not need more roads or anymore construction.
