We have 4 days to stop the Holly Springs proposed 25% property tax increase. On Monday the 18th at 11am, and 6:30pm the city is holding meetings at town hall to raise our property taxes by 25%.
Harmony on the lakes has over 2,800 people, and there's 20,000 people in Holly Springs as of 2025. We're the largest neighborhood in the town and we pay 15% of the Holly Springs property tax. Holly Springs can't survive without Harmony on the Lakes.
Harmony on the Lakes residents need to use our strength in numbers to threaten to secede from the town of Holly Springs to stop this tax. We just elected a new mayor, (who happens to live in our neighborhood) and this is the thanks we get.
If everyone in Harmony on the Lakes alone signs this petition to secede we will have more than the 10% of signatures needed to force the city council to pass a resolution calling for an election on the proposed de-annexation. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION BEFORE MONDAY!

Tax increases for our area are absolutely ridiculous, to have residents ACTUALLY thinking of MOVING AWAY should tell the local government how out if touch they truly are with the community
This increase MUST be explained - Why is it necessary? What changes will result from this increase? Who benefits from this increase?
Holly Springs is getting too big and adding more taxes. Why? Maybe we need to vote the commissioners out. Just plan greedy.
The increase in taxes is outrageous. Currently I am paying taxes for Holly Springs and Canton which has resulted in an increase in my Mortgage.Our total property taxes is more than Alpharetta's and Roswell. The taxes we pay is not being reflected in our schools as the schools ratings decrease every year.At the rate this city is going with increasing taxes many people will not be able to afford to live here .
This is absolutely unacceptable. The bonds of all civil service employees will be held if such attempts were to be made. The mere fact that this is even being discussed it a testament to the abuse of power being seen across our nation. Good people will rise up and show the defunct officials just who owns the power. This is not a threat,but a mere warning. The people of this great state will not cower when forced to accept demands from government that hurt our families.

We are burdened enough and would not be in favor of another tax increase. We have a family to feed, and would have to move from our neighborhood or secede.
