Norfolk County Council want to save £61 million. £7 million is spent per year on Adult Education. Wensum Lodge is worth £..? million. Once they've ousted education they're free to sell, sell, sell.
Privatise - that's the name of thier game - and it doesn't work .
Adult Education had an 'outstanding' Ofsted report last year. None of the colleges where they want to offload the courses acieved as much.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE WHY FIX IT?
Be proud to be Norfolk. Give our adults a chance to achieve.

Little enough provision for adult education in Norfolk. More are needed not less
Foremost in the qualities that make Norwich stand out from other cities, its remarkable consistency in providing real community centres, cherished over decades and handed on with pride to the following generations. We are investing in our people and their skills and Wensum Lodge has both the history and beauty to keep that tradition intact. The loss of this special place would be indicative of the lack of respect we have for our own Norfolk treasures and cultural markers.
Privatise!!!Where is do it because you love it (Teaching) The emotions, the dedication etc. 'They' have destroyed the health service, so why not adult education. You tried using the adult education web site...useless, could explain why, I expect, enrolments are down in the last two years . Wensum Lodge fan. ( Whats the equivalent to Big Pharma in education). Save money? I very much doubt it. Just a reduced service.
We need this outlet for adult education in Norfolk very much. If it were merged with other colleges it would not be able to continue giving such a unique service to the public. If anything it needs more money and effort put into it. I would recommend keeping it open because it genuinely helps so many.
Wensum Lodge is a Norwich gem. Why ruin something that works perfectly well just to balance the books? Leave it alone.
Its the same old........everything is sacrificed if it means lots of £££££
