This petition is to try and stop the North Suffolk skills Academy closing!

I feel that the Academy is a great opportunity for children who live out in the sticks and cant get anywhere else I think its such a great shame that Bungay want to close the Academy down its a welcoming place no matter who you are or your ability's if it wasn't for the Academy I would have not found out that I was Dylexic I wouldn't have got the support and help I needed I would still be struggling to this day I also wouldn't have been able to become a hairdresser and barber what has always been my dream and I am sure it is other boys and girls dream to do but wont be able to do like my little sister she wont have there opportunity to try and go for it as there is noting around here for her she would have to go miles to get inn to another collage and I think its so unfair so I want to start this petition to see if it would make ay diffents in what they decied to do so please sign and try stop this happing

Seeing all these names pop up on my phone is honestly kind of overwhelming because I just keep thinking about how many other people see the Academy the same way I do. It feels like the momentum is actually real now and that is just wild to think about when I started this feeling like maybe nobody would even care.

Why was there no consultation with students and parents. What affect will this have with students in the middle of NVQ courses. What are our politicians and councillors doing about this.

I wouldn't even have a future if it wasn't for the NSSA. They provide a great opportunity to start and build a career. Also they have a great learning environment. I am very grateful for what they have done to help give me a positive future. It would inevitably be the worst decision to close the NSSA.

I use the and hairdressing college and I am very concerned about the future students who will not be able to have a career in hairdressing, this college is great for rural students if it closes they will have the further expense of having to travel to other colleges I don't know where the nearest one is from Halesworth. The teacher Shona has excellent skills in teaching and gives the students confidence in what they are doing. Why can't the Goverment give some funding this important college. What is our elected council doing about this? Has the media printed anything about this?

How short sighted when it is obviously helping lots of students.

I think it is a disgrace that this academy will be closed. What are our politicians in Suffolk doing about this. I have seen no comment from them.

People are always saying that the youth of today have no interest in anything. It's not surprising when the authorities close down skill centres and other places of learning smacking these young people in the face and shattering their dreams. Who under those circumstances would not want to say "stuff it why should I bother".
