I hate it, black ice over every street when its -30 ish. way more dangerous. Plus its going to destroy not only our car metal but electrical too which is very expensive to repair.

Please reconsider the use of Calcium Chloride on the city streets. The roads are not drying up as they should and fresh snow is creating hazardous conditions for motorists. We shouldn’t need to wash our vehicles below -15 C as the road should be dry.

As a former detailer and a current mechanic, it can be very costly to keep a vehicle in good shape as is. This would only increase the mechanical costs and detailing costs for anyone that cares about their vehicle.

Unless the City of Edmonton is going to provide free vehicle washes and rust repair/remediation and environmental protection, let's rethink this one!

As an automotive service technician and seeing the differences in cars from out east versus cars out here, it's incredible how fast how much and how damaging it is to use calcium chloride. Cars a year old look worse than most Albertan cars ten years old! Nobody asked for this and nobody wants this!

Salt brine is going to destroy our storm water systems and north Saskatchewan River. Also all those neighbourhood storm ponds where the kids play hockey are going to never freeze up and be a real mess. They will become the Dead Sea.

Albertans need to stop being babies. Yeah yeah the damage of salt and rust whatever. The safety and lives of people on the road are more important than rust and infrastructure damage which takes place over YEARS and btw if you didn’t know can be fixed. All of Ontario uses salt and the roads are bare asphalt within a few hours of a storm. Imagine how nice that would be hey. This city's snow removal process is a joke. Grow up and choose lives and safety. The salt works. We need more of it.
