Albertans need to stop being babies. Yeah yeah the damage of salt and rust whatever. The safety and lives of people on the road are more important than rust and infrastructure damage which takes place over YEARS and btw if you didn’t know can be fixed. All of Ontario uses salt and the roads are bare asphalt within a few hours of a storm. Imagine how nice that would be hey. This city's snow removal process is a joke. Grow up and choose lives and safety. The salt works. We need more of it.

Does anyone else not experience extremely slippery and greasy conditions on the asphalt below - 20 after a brine application?

Just switched my tires/rims from winter to summer set and noticed significant damage to the winter rims (typical alloy material) that was not there when I put them on in the fall.

I hate it, black ice over every street when its -30 ish. way more dangerous. Plus its going to destroy not only our car metal but electrical too which is very expensive to repair.

You need to get this on Instagram & Facebook ASAP. The brine is only good up to -25C and these lower temps have caused the brine to freeze into a thin layer of ice over the entire road surface causing all these record number of accident days recently in Edmonton. This needs to be exposed!!!

Windshields are cheaper than body repairs! What is the city thinking !? Salt solutions is a terrible idea! Body shops are going to be ecstatic

Edmonton has enough problems in the winter. Lets spend the money getting the snow off the roads in a timely manner instead.

This makes cars on to disposable items like eastern provinces (Quebec). But undercoat doesn't help , as the salt gets everywhere and corrodes the entire vehicle.

This seriously wrong, this is damaging the paint on vehicles

I'd like a chemical engineer to perhaps give us more details on the rate of corrosion and the specifics of the corrosion inhibitors being used.

I drive the henday everyday car is covered in a gross white film and can see rust forming quicker than any year on a car that had no rust

This is ridiculous and will cost the people more in repairs and or preventative costs, than it will cost for any and all of the accidents that this salt will allegedly prevent

Show me proof that it won't rust metals
