Did you know that Burlington elected officials recently voted over 80% in favour of spending $250,000 to convert New Street's 4 Lanes to 2, and add 2 bike lanes from Guelph Line to Walkers Line?

If you think this is a ridiculous waste of our money, and will ultimately frustrate us, especially in the winter, when driving single lane Est /West on New Street sign and pass along this petition!

20,000 to 30,000 cars ride this route daily. 60 cyclists, currently! Yes! Really!

I personally bike the whole duration of this routes, but choose Spruce St. it runs the same East - West direction, and is much safer and more beautiful. I alternatively travel the expensive and scenic bike paths that run the length of the city, and find them very effective.

Stop this one year trial from starting by contacting the mayor, our city councillors, and/or sign this petition.

Bike lanes are a good thing but not at the expense of slowing down traffic movement. Also, the bike path runs so close to this road and is much safer place for bikes to ride.
