Updates

The feedback regarding the scale of this proposal remains consistent among neighbors who value the existing character of our street. I am currently organizing the documentation required to ensure these specific concerns reach the zoning committee ahead of the next public hearing.

The growth of this petition shows that the community is deeply invested in the future of our neighborhood. This momentum serves as a clear indication that local residents expect careful consideration regarding the scale of new construction.

The engagement on this development is lackluster. The area is not redeveloping existing abandoned/vacant buildings with consideration to the current community. A home is our largest financial investment and to quickly devalue our home with a rushed process feels disheartening

I live in on Byron Street and am opposed to this building. I don't understand why you'd put a 7 story building at the corner of two one way streets in a quiet neighborhood. Additionally, why the drastic change in zoning? I'm not against development of the land but this current proposal doesn't make a lick of sense.

The proposed building is too big for the area. Traffic on Ravenswood and Grace St is already too heavy with cars, bikes and pedestrians. And street parking is too limited in the area to support a new building with 42 rental units and only 26 parking spaces.

We are opposed to this project. This area is already congested, we did not purchase in this area to have it evolve into a Lincoln Park type neighborhood. Please reconsider and place smaller townhomes or single family homes.

This building is much too large for a quiet intersection like Berenice and Ravenswood. I think the 'Transit Oriented Development' is really a scam to avoid having the proper number of parking spaces for the building. Doing that for this building is worse since it's next to the train tracks, and no one will want to park east of Ravenswood

Parking and traffic on a one-way street would increase significantly. One building is already approved on Grace that would put almost 200 residential units in a two block stretch. Opposed.

So, how did this all turn out? LOL. See ya soon neighbors. I'll be president of the neighborhood association soon. I'll eventually weed you all out and promote more growth.

Please do not move forward with the 1800 W Berniece project. I strongly object to this and the congestion it would cause our corner of the neighborhood.
