Michael's Arts & Crafts is discriminating against tattoo artists and studios by having clauses in their store leases preventing the property management from leasing to tattoo studios. Heart in Hand Tattoo Co. was leased a space in Castle Rock, CO by the Kroenke Group. After spending thousands of dollars building out the space and decorating it, then opening a business, Heart in Hand has been told that Michael's wants them evicted, per the clause in their lease. They rightly believe that this is unreasonable and unfair treatment, as well as disrespectful to the thousands of artists whose medium is the tattoo. Please join us in the fight to stop this irrational and unwarranted practice by signing the petition, which will be delivered to Michael's corporate offices as well as the Kronke Group. I have been spending my nights reading through your stories about being judged for our ink and it only confirms why this fight is so necessary. We are currently preparing a formal letter to the corporate offices involved to explain that we refuse to be pushed out of our own neighborhood.

Seeing this level of support for Heart in Hand proves that people are finally tired of seeing talented artists pushed out for no good reason. My heart is full knowing so many of you see the human cost behind these corporate lease clauses. We are gathering everything needed to bring this directly to the decision makers.

Michael's should not have the right to interfere with ANY legit and legal business opening in the same area. And to try and kick you out sounds illegal and wrong
Tattoos are the art of our life history's. An expression of our inner souls on our outer shells. Michaels is obviously not interested or invested in what art is or who is creating it.
Some of the kindest people I know have tattoos. Shame on Michael's for judging books by their covers instead of embracing people from all walks of life.
This is absolutely ridiculous....how can and ARTS and craft store discriminate against an art form. If this goes through I won't be shopping at Michael's again. If you discriminate against tattoo shops will you then discriminate against those of us that have tattoos?
This discrimination against a lawful business is outrageous. I have no tattoo's myself, but that is an individual choice that should not be governed by the whims and prejudice of some corporate office.

I personally don't have tattoos, but 2 of my 4 children do, and I shop at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I can choose just Hobby Lobby if Michael's likes bullying small businesses, regardless that I'm in another state, I can share with my friends, I'm sure they are interested in this fact.
