Michael's Arts & Crafts is discriminating against tattoo artists and studios by having clauses in their store leases preventing the property management from leasing to tattoo studios. Heart in Hand Tattoo Co. was leased a space in Castle Rock, CO by the Kroenke Group. After spending thousands of dollars building out the space and decorating it, then opening a business, Heart in Hand has been told that Michael's wants them evicted, per the clause in their lease. They rightly believe that this is unreasonable and unfair treatment, as well as disrespectful to the thousands of artists whose medium is the tattoo.
