The Orcem-Vallejo Marine Terminal is the single-most harmful project to be proposed in Vallejo in the past 25 years. We encourage all stakeholders to educate themselves on the project's impact on local water and air quality, and the irreparable damage to be introduced to local wildlife. Furthermore, not only does the project lack economic justification, but would severely reduce the quality of life for all Vallejo residents.

Please sign the petition to stop the Orcem - Vallejo Marine Terminal project.

Updates

October 19, 2015

The feedback regarding the environmental impact of this project remains consistent and deeply concerning. We are currently compiling the documentation necessary to present these findings to the relevant planning commissions.

October 19, 2015

The project continues to face significant scrutiny as our numbers grow steadily. This momentum demonstrates that the community is not willing to accept the environmental risks posed by the terminal.

I wonder how 300 trucks a day would be received in a neighborhood like Hiddenbrook. They know the immediate neighborhood is low income and high in rental property lacking a coherent political voice.

The cement factory will only bring 15 new jobs to Vallejo. If the cement factory comes to Vallejo, it is an act of Environmental Discrimination towards the South Vallejo residents.

A flour mill has to be very clean because it is in the food industry. Cement is the worst polluting industry for humans and environment. Keep heavy industry away from residential areas and grow Vallejo as a beautiful historic river city with a thriving tourist industry.

I live very near there. I have already survived whatever the wind blows around on the island. I definitely dont want to be exposed to what they're proposing. I cant afford to move away as I am currently disabled and not working.it will be some time before I am back on my feet.

I just moved to Vallejo, it's a charming community just beginning to recover from the recession. But, a cement factory that would pollute SF ban, chase off the wildlife and ruin our air and water isn't what we need for Vallejo. What would this do to the Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve?

Orcem, please find a non residential area for your factory. We understand the old mill is an ideal place for you, inexpensive on water and rail. But please understand people and wildlife live here. Our lives are more important than your profits. This is not a good fit for Vallejo.

I own a home in Vallejo and I am frightened by the prospect of having that plant here. You have no right to jeopardize my health and the health of our community. Stop!
