It's part of the towns heritage.. Everyone knows it and a good lot of people can't remember town without it..!! If the council wants a place that's all arty but no character then that's what they'll get by taking things like this away..

I think Highland Councils latest proposals absolutely stupid or even more so than normal, leave the Jolly Butcher and other iconic advertisements alone I have seen this statue for 40 years now it is an Inverness institute and popular attraction

Remove a jolly old butcher who as been there for many many years brighten up the street scene costing the Council nothing yet they want to erect an "art work" costing thousands that will completely destroy the wonderful vista along the River Ness.

Why move something that's doing no harm? I used to walk past this all the time and know my grandchildren go past it evey time they come to visit .And they love to see the big man ! its ridiculous don't people have more to worry about .

It has been a landmark in Queengate for years and it is in no ones way, so way is Highland Council making an issue of it now? I get my bus from Queensgate everyday and i have seen tourists having their photo taken with it. Leave it alone.

This model is doing no one any harm and is a part of the quirky character of our city and should not be removed, it has been smiling at everyone for years I would love to know who it is offending because it's not offending the locals!

This is an historic icon and should not be removed.
