We are horrified by the unnecessary destruction of the oldest and most magnificent Ash trees in Peterchurch, to the rear of the Church on the footpath to Hinton.. We demand that in future cases Peterchurch Parish Council conducts widespread public consultation, proper bat and wildlife surveys, and places tree preservation as a priority. We request that three large root-balled saplings are planted in the place of the two destroyed ash trees at the earliest opportunity.

The Parish Council can no longer pretend we are not watching them hack away at our history. This surge in support proves that we are finished with their secret meetings and total disregard for our local landscape.

This was an appalling piece of vandalism which we have unwittingly paid for via the PPC The only reason seems to have been to smooth out the path to tarmac it - also a completely unnecessary expense. Who is benefitting from this?
The trees whilst claimed to be seriously affected by ash dieback, seem to be still healthy. Too many trees are being removed from that area overnight. Here 1 day gone the next. Who is making the decisions and does that include HCC?
this is the minimum the council can do for this irreplaceable loss so do hope it will be implemented

On whose land were these trees situated? Who made this decision to take them out and why? Who took down the trees and how were they formally contracted to do so? Where did the timber go? What steps are being taken to replace the trees? Which trees in the parish are protected Tree Preservation Orders?
