WE, the undersigned, FULLY OPPOSE the needless felling of the mature verge trees within the Village of Theydon Bois. Many trees have been marked for felling with a white cross by Essex County Council. These trees form a significant part of the Theydon Bois Village street scene and should not be felled unless there is immiediate danger to passers-by or there are clear unrefutable Health & Safety reasons to do so :

They look perfectly healthy to me. Just another excuse for the council to save a few quid on maintenance by getting rid of them entirely.

so sad to see the marks on these beautiful old trees. they provide shade and character to the street, dont ruin our village.

These trees have been here longer than most of us. You cant just paint a cross on them and chop them down for no reason. Leave them alone!!

Ridiculous. They make the village what it is. If they arent rotting or falling over then keep your chainsaws away.

Stop the felling. Essex council needs to find a better way to manage the verges instead of just destroying local history.
