There is a proposal coming before the Natick Conservation Commission to build a four thousand+/-square foot building - within the areas designated by the EPA, as protected - on the banks of the Charles River.

The last thing Natick needs is to destroy one of the few undeveloped riverfront areas it has left, because a few individuals that are not even Natick residents want to benefit from developing it.

What makes this more unreasonable is the fact that there is room on this land to build a smaller structure that wouldn't encroach on the 200' protected area. Thing is - these guys want to build a McMansion as close to the river as they can. This Will impact the river, creating more problems than we already have. Like this page if you agree

The developers think they can just ignore the bylaws and steamroll over our riverfront but they are dead wrong. I have been digging through their plans and the disregard for our protected wetlands is absolutely infuriating. We are going to make sure the Natick Conservation Commission hears exactly what we think about this greed.

The momentum behind this petition proves that Natick will not sit by while these developers treat our riverfront like their private playground. Those greedy individuals counting on us to look the other way are about to find out that this community has teeth.

Don't mess with the Charles. Does the Army Corp. of Engineers go with this? Millis, as far as I know, owns a good piece of this town. The Charles is important, right, not just for its history, but for conservation and important water supplies. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Does not make sense to permit construction on riverbanks or floodplains only to see insurance claims down the road I wake of weirder and weirder weather.

Do not build on our EPA protected land. The Charles River is enjoyed by all in this community and many others as well. So few areas for our wildlife to call refuge - keep it unspoiled. Shame on unscrupulous developers for trying to ruin the character of a protected area for a quick buck.

Natick doesn't need any new housing, especially McMansion style. To build in this very historic and environmentally important area is inexcusable and the prospective builders have no basis for appealing the existing regulations that are meant to keep exactly this from happening

The wetlands protection act was put in place for a reason, to protect the wetlands. Therefore ConComms shouĺd enforce the 200 foot setback. Simple.
