Coates Drove in Isleham is a historic & truly beautiful part of our village. It is used by so many within our community for walks, dog walks, family muddy puddle walks, children's first bike rides, ramblers & runners to name a few.
It is home to so much wildlife due to the extensive hedgerows & mature trees. Deer, hare, various species of owls, foxes, birds, hedgehog, insects & bats.
There is a planning application that might change this area for ever. The application has been objected by the Parish Council but it can be overruled by ECDC. If the application goes ahead hedges & trees will be removed, walks along the Drove will no longer be traffic free, compromising the safety of those that currently enjoy this area. There is no reason why this planning application requires access via Coates Drove. With a very little alteration to the plans the existing access via Church Lane could be used.

The scale of this support has secured us a formal meeting with representatives from the planning department. I am now finalizing our technical brief to contrast the proposed access route with the viable alternative through Church Lane.

It's lovely to live in a village with droves, they are great for walking around the village in a safe environment, as many of the villages roads have narrow or don't have pavements for pedestrians. Please keep the droves unmade.
Please keep this beautiful drove as natural and unspoilt as possible! Growing up on this Drove was so safe due to it being off a busy road and many children still love to climb the trees and explore down this road, keep it as it is!
I live down Coates Drove and with the state it is in now people still drive down there at top speed so if it turns into a road that would increase! Putting people at risk. It’s become a well known place for people, not just in our village, to walk, dog walk, even for children to play down so changing this would be just inexplicable.
I use this drove twice daily to walk my dog. I see hares, deer, birds and other wildlife. In a busy world it’s a welcome relief being so close to nature. Please do not allow building on this site with access from the drove.
The Drove is a beautiful and peaceful part of the village. The access road proposed necessitates the removal Of some trees and the widening of the road, destroying the habitat.
Save this open space for the village to enjoy. Too many 4 bedroom unsold properties in the village.

This would cause devastating effects to the wildlife in the area. I can see no reason why the owner cannot use the same access road as the current housing there. This should remain a drove and not a road.
